Christina Chapman Townsend, MSW, LMSW, CCM,  is a Certified Professional Geriatric Care Manager. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers,  the Academy of Certified Case Managers, and the National Association of Social Workers. She received her BA from Clemson University and her MSW from Florida State.

Christina has been a medical social worker and case manager for 18 years in the Atlanta Metro area. She has worked in acute hospitals, Long Term Acute Care, Dialysis, and Hospice, the primary focus of which has been with seniors and their medical, emotional, and spiritual needs in life-changing circumstances. She brought her medical knowledge base, the passion for client advocacy,  and the desire to educate seniors and their families when asked to join SeniorCare Options in 2005. Christina truly enjoys working with seniors, with a particular passion for individuals with dementia and memory impairment. She feels a unique sensitivity for this particular group since having a child with autism has provided insight into the person with daily living and thinking challenges. The ability work with these clients and explain to families a ”methods to the madness” that seem to come with this population’s inexplicable actions and behaviors has been exceptionally rewarding. She has also seen first-hand in today’s hospital/ medical world how patients and families are overwhelmed with the decisions, processes, and complications that they face and the few people that are truly available to guide them without their own organization’s agenda.
